The old thyme sour is based on a classic whiskey sour recipe, but adds a number of new twists to create a delicious cocktail that’s very fun. In many ways, this cocktail was created by Michael Grissinger and is innovative. This drink is made from a combination of thyme and Chartreuse, which is then lit on fire so that it has a sweet and herbal smoky flavor. The Irish whiskey sour combines elderflower with homemade cinnamon-thyme syrup and is flavored with whiskey. As per usual, the drink has a healthy dose of fresh lemon and just a touch of egg white to give it that wonderful texture no other ingredient can do.
Tips
As a sweetener for tea, it can also be used in other mixed drinks. For up to two weeks, the homemade syrup should be kept in the refrigerator. The Green Chartreuse whiskey is higher proof (55 percent ABV) than the Yellow Chartreuse whiskey (40 percent ABV), so it is more likely to burn. If you prefer, you can omit the egg white.
